On Wednesday, July 17, eight ladies from Prairie Lutheran Parish set out on a road trip to the “Cathedral on the Prairie” at Hoven and met up with Joyce Olson of Artesian First Lutheran there.
The priest at the Cathedral, Father Kevin Doyle, gave the group a very interesting and informative tour. They even got to sing a hymn accompanied by the organist of 60 years.
After the tour the group traveled to West Whitlock on the Missouri River to the cabin of Joyce and Doug Olson. Joyce prepared a delicious walleye dinner for everyone. Bible cake was a dessert treat made by Judy Wormstadt. The Lord’s Prayer was prayed and table blessing sung.
A skit titled “Day 39 and Counting” with the characters of God (Deanna Dean) and Martha, Noah’s wife (Judy Wormstadt) was performed.
Those attending were: Lorelee Nelson, Shirley Stroud, Donna Stroud and Connie Hattervig of Trinity Lutheran at Carthage, Janet Peskey of Immanuel Lutheran, rural Iroquois, and Joyce Olson, Deanna Dean, Arlene Kelly and Judy Wormstadt of Artesian First Lutheran.
