The Woonsocket Water Festival committee met Aug. 4 at the WHS library with 13 people in attendance. The meeting was called to order by President Gay Swenson.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was given and approved.
Old Business: There are 13 youth and 25 adult T-shirts left with many 125th plates and “Still Reminiscing” books available.
New Business: Election of officers was held: President Rod Weber, Vice President Jeff Poyer, Treasurer Julie Amadon and Secretary Barbara Maurice. The officers will also serve as the Board of Directors. Discussion was held regarding the July 4, 2014 weekend.
The State of South Dakota will also celebrate 125 years of statehood in 2014. With a three-day weekend to celebrate, lots of games, races and events will be needed to fill the time. So get your thinking caps on and share your ideas at the next meeting on Dec. 3, 6 p.m. in the Woonsocket library.
