The regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 met on Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the community center. President Dawn Rassel led the opening ceremonies with Chaplain Judy Stenzel leading the prayers. Marian Andersen, music chairman, led the national anthem.
The minutes of the June meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was given by Barb Maurice and accepted. No bills were presented.
It was decided to send a $100 donation to the gift shop project at the Hot Springs Veterans’ Home instead of gifts for the Christmas Gift Shop.
The yearly obligations were paid and the membership drive was started. The goal this year is last year’s membership plus three.
District 6 President Theresa Maeschen’s September newsletter was read. The new department president is Janet Hurlbert of Raymond. The fall District 6 meeting will be in Ethan on Sept. 27. Our unit is to make the same number of Christmas stockings as we sent last year.
The next blood drive will be in October.
PVCC games will be moved to the second Thursday of the month.
The next meeting will be Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the community center.
Bingo helper for September Legion Bingo will be Linda Kilcoin with bars furnished by Jo White.
PVCC Bingo cookies will be furnished by Judy Brisbine and Bobbi Jo White.
