The regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 met on Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the community center. President Dawn Rassel led the opening ceremonies with Chaplain Judy Stenzel leading the opening prayer. The National Anthem was led by music chairman Marian Andersen.
The District 6 President Theresa Maeschen was present for her annual unit visit.
The minutes of the January meeting and treasurer’s report were given and approved. No bills were presented.
A newsletter from District 6 President Theresa Maeschen was read and a report was given by the President on District and State activities. Membership was discussed and projects for the veterans were explained. Mid-Winter Conference will be held Feb. 8-10 at Oacoma and all members are encouraged to attend. Americanism essays and poems are due to be sent in to the District President by April 1.
Following the closing ceremonies, President Dawn adjourned the meeting. Lunch furnished by Lynn Brueske was served by Dawn Rassel.
The next meeting will be March 5 at 6:30 p.m. Bingo helper for March is Dawn Rassel, who is also furnishing bars.
Cookies for the March PVCC bingo are to be furnished by Liz Brooks and Florence Tiede.
