The regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 met on June 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the community center. President Dawn Rassel led the opening ceremonies and Chaplin Judy Stenzel led the opening prayer. Music chairman Marian Andersen led the singing of the National Anthem.
The minutes of the May meeting and treasurer’s report were given and accepted.
A Poppy Day report was given by Jo White. A thank you will be published for the good job the Town ‘N Kountry Kids 4-H Club members did helping to distribute the poppies.
Dawn Rassel gave a report on the Memorial Day lunch, and the blood drive.
Officers for the 2013-14 year are President Dawn Rassel, First Vice, Lynn Brueske, Second Vice, Jo White, Secretary, Mary Kay Regynski, Treasurer, Barb Maurice; Historian, Marian Andersen, Chaplain, Judy Stenzel, and Sargeant-at-Arms, Evelyn Hjelm.
Plans were made for the Fourth of July. The Unit will sponsor a bingo at 2 p.m. in the community center.
Following the closing ceremonies President Dawn adjourned the meeting. There will be no meetings in July and August.
The next meeting will be Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the community center.
Bingo helper for June is Vicki Miller and she is also furnishing bars. Bingo helper for July is Amy Kogel and she will furnish bars. Bingo helper for August is Lynn Brueske and she is also furnishing bars. Cookies for PVCC bingo to be furnished in June by Valeria Mann and Myrna Knigge. Cookies for July furnished by Mary Schabot and Cheryl Schmidt. Cookies for Aug. 13 furnished by Barb Maurice and Judy Hinker.
