The Snackpack for Kids program is alive and well in Sanborn County. This organization sends food home at the end of every week for kids in need at the Woonsocket School and the Sanborn Central School. The snacks include easy-to-fix entrees and healthy snacks that children can eat during their weekends at home.
Bethany Lutheran Church started the Snackpack for Kids program in Woonsocket for the Woonsocket School in October and St. Wilfrid Catholic Church will become involved in December. On the other side of the county the churches in Artesian, Letcher and Forestburg began packing snacks for the Sanborn Central School in September. All churches rotate months.
The Woonsocket churches would greatly appreciate donations of non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations for this program. They can be dropped off at Bethany Lutheran Church or at St. Wilfrid Catholic Church in Woonsocket.
