Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Ebersdorfer presiding. Other members present were: S. Larson, Ohlrogge, Blindauer, and P. Larson. Also present was Auditor Larson. Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Ohlrogge, to accept the minutes as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY
Lee Goergen, Highway Superintendent/Weed Supervisor, and Sheri Kogel, Administrative Assistant, met with the board. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to declare a bridge, structure 56-220-096 located at Benedict Township between Sections 22-23 over Redstone Creek surplus. All ayes. Motion carried. On behalf of the Drainage Board, Blindauer reported that the outlet on Ditch 25 107-61-17 needs to be cleaned. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by P. Larson, to hire Brian Feistner to clean the outlet. All ayes. Motion carried.
WEED BOARD
Motion by S. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to convene as the weed board. All ayes. Motion carried. It was decided to pay the weed sprayers an extra 50 cents per hour May through October. Stacy Mendenhall, Dale Schow, and Jim Luthi will be doing the weed spraying. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by S. Larson, to reconvene as a board of commissioners. All ayes. Motion carried.
COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES CONTRACT
Auditor Larson presented the contract between the Sanborn County Commission and the South Dakota Department of Health for community health services beginning January 1, 2016 and ending December 31, 2016. The amount for the year will be $5,150.00 paid quarterly. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by S. Larson, to approve the contract. Motion carried.
BEADLE COUNTY JAIL CONTRACT
Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Ohlrogge, to enter into an agreement with the Beadle County Jail for the year 2016 for $80.00 per prisoner-day or any part of. All ayes. Motion carried.
