Rex Schlicht ran for a second place finish in the Region 4B Cross Country meet held in Gettysburg on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Rex, a senior at Woonsocket High School, finished with a time of 17:41.53.
Younger brother Spens Schlicht, a freshman at Woonsocket, also brought home a 13th place finish with a time of 19:39.57, in a 0.41 of a second photo-finish with the 12th place runner.
Both boys qualified for the State Cross Country Meet to be held this Saturday, Oct. 24 at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls.
Malachi Bruce made up the third runner of Woonsocket’s three-man squad and finished in 40th place. The team tied Timber Lake for fifth overall out of 11 competing teams with 54 points.
