On March 9, the Artesian American Legion Auxiliary Unit 47 met at the Artesian Community Center.
President Karen Klinkner called the meeting to order.
Members said a silent prayer for all veterans. Roll call and flag salute opened the meeting.
There was no secretary report. Dee Bechen gave the treasurer’s report.
President Klinkner read a letter from District 6 President. The District 6 spring meeting is April 16 in Wessington Springs. Anyone wanting to attend is to call Klinkner for more information.
We discussed ordering grave markers for the deceased members. D. Bechen will check into it and order some.
Poems and essays were judged and prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. There were so many excellent ones, it was a difficult job judging. Thank you, students.
