George wins Professional Excellence Award

Emily George of Woonsocket was recently announced as a winner of the Professional Excellence Award for the spring term at Dakota Wesleyan University.
George, who was the staff awardee, was one of two at DWU given the honor. Alisha Vincent was selected as the faculty award winner.
George joined the staff at DWU in 2006 as administrative assistant to academic affairs. In 2013, she was promoted to executive administrative assistant to both the provost and the president.
In her nomination letter, George is described as having outstanding professionalism and invaluable communication skills. “She welcomes everyone who comes into the office and is willing to share her thoughts and ideas when asked for help. Her pleasant attitude helps bring a smile to many.”
George has been instrumental in organizing and assisting with baccalaureate and commencement, and is always on hand to assist with all other major events. She also volunteers for campus activities, such as potlucks, service days, the Mitchell Day of Caring and more.
