The annual fishing derby held over the Fourth of July weekend is always a big hit with the kids, and this year, 48 fishermen spent their Sunday morning hoping for the big catch.
In the five and under age group, Bryant Linke won the prize for biggest fish and Molly Hinker caught the most fish. Jobe Schulz and Jocelyn Grassel tied for smallest fish caught.
Dayton Eagle hauled in the biggest fish in the six- to 10-year-old division, while his cousin, Allison Westendorf, tied McKenzy Baruth for the smallest fish. Addy Baruth tied her sister McKenzy for the most fish caught.
In the 11-14-year-old division, Jared Zerr was the proud winner of the biggest fish award, and he pulled in the most fish. Brock and Grant Hinker tied for the smallest fish.
The “Catch of the Day” award went to Dayton Eagle, who hauled in supper for a family of seven. The “Most Unique” prize went to Brock Hinker.
