The Letcher Community Church is planning its annual Vacation Bible School from July 31 to Aug. 4.
The theme for this year’s event is “Surf Shack – Catch the Wave of God’s Amazing Love.” The students will study God’s amazing love, explore God’s mission for their lives, encounter powerful water stories from the Bible, and discover ways to live out God’s amazing love.
The event will kick-off with a potluck picnic on Sunday, July 31, at 5:30 p.m. at the church. Hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided. All families and community members are welcome and invited to stay for the evening.
Every Monday through Thursday evening, the students will attend from 5:30-8:30 p.m. They will be active in Bible study, music, recreation, assemblies and snacks. This year, there will be theme nights: Monday – Shades; Tuesday – Hawaiian; Wednesday – Neon; Thursday – Beach party night.
Supper will be served each evening.  VBS is for all children ages three through the eighth grade, with a daily offering taken.
