Mary Ann Schoenfelder, 81, of Mitchell, died Saturday, Jan. 30 in her home.
The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell with burial in St. Stephens Catholic Cemetery in Bridgewater. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 4 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Church.
Mary Ann Schoenfelder was born Jan., 12 1935, in Bridgewater to Edward and Caroline (Determan) Hoffman. She married her high school sweetheart, Stephen Weber, in 1953 and they had six children. Mary was an outstanding homemaker, talented seamstress and beautician.
Stephen died at the age of 41, so Mary then went on to school to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse. She worked as an OB nurse at Avera Queen of Peace for 22 years. Mary married Raymond Schoenfelder in 1978, and they enjoyed 37 wonderful years together, sharing their love of gardening, canning, quilting, woodworking, traveling and camping.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond; her children, Stephanie Turner (Mark) of Elk Point, Bruce Weber of Lawrence, Kan., Mary Fouberg (friend, Shawn Gregg) of Woonsocket, and Susan Hagen (Bryan) of Worthington, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dolores Goldstine of Bridgewater, Evelyn Garry of Webster, Alida Ahlers of Salem, and Sharon Tuschen (Larry) of Salem; one brother, Jerry Hoffman (Shirley) of Bridgewater; and over 100 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen Weber; son, Scott Weber (fiancé, Paula Lynch of Woonsocket); daughter, Carol Weber; brothers, Norbert and Harold Hoffman; three brothers-in-law, Carl Goldstine, Russell Garry and Marvin Ahlers; and sister-in-law, Dolores Hoffman.
Arrangements are with Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.
