Moody, Schlicht to be honored at Academic Excellence Luncheon

More than 200 graduating seniors from South Dakota’s public, private and Tribal/Bureau of Indian Education schools will be honored at the 2016 Academic Excellence Recognition Luncheon, which honors the top one percent of graduating seniors from the class of 2016, on Monday, April 25 at the Ramkota Rivercentre in Pierre.
Bailey Moody of Sanborn Central and Rex Schlicht of Woonsocket School were both chosen as honorees from their schools.
This year marks the 26th annual luncheon hosted by Associated School Boards of South Dakota in association with Gov. Dennis Daugaard, the School Administrators of South Dakota and the Department of Education.
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and Gov. Daugaard is expected to speak at approximately noon. Following the Governor’s speech, each student in attendance will be presented a certificate and pin, personally greeted by the governor and have their photo taken with him.
The event is sponsored by the South Dakota Community Foundation.
