Five college students were awarded scholarships from the Sales & Marketing Executives, Inc. of Sioux Falls at their annual meeting in April.
The five finalists were selected from applicants from across South Dakota after reviewing written essays and professor recommendations. As finalists, they shared a 15-minute presentation selling a business or product to a panel of sales and marketing professionals. Each year SME awards scholarships to students pursuing degrees in business, management, sales or marketing.
A $1000 award was given to Rachelle Moore of Artesian, who attends the University of South Dakota. Rachelle Moore is the daughter of Jerry and Pam Moore.
Each fall SME Sioux Falls hosts the SME Youth Benefit Auction which raises funds for these scholarships. SME has awarded scholarships to South Dakota college students for 24 years for a total of $164,000.
