Each year, FFA chapters around the country celebrate National FFA Week. The week-long tradition began in 1947 when the National FFA Board of Directors designated the week of George Washington’s birthday as National FFA Week in recognition of his legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. The first National FFA Week was held in 1948. Today, FFA Week always runs Saturday to Saturday and encompasses Feb. 22, Washington’s birthday.
This year’s FFA week runs from February 20-27. As the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA chapter celebrates National FFA Week, we would like to thank all the people who have helped make this past year a successful one. We would also like to thank the teachers, who have let students out of class for FFA events such as CDE’s.

Monday
SC: Penny War Start – Proceeds to Believe Scholarship
W: Coloring contest for K-4
Tuesday
SC: Dress in Blue and Gold Day
W: FFA Pancake Breakfast at Community Center starting at 7:00 a.m. –  all proceeds to Rob Baruth Fund
Wednesday
SC: Donut Sales Breakfast
W: FFA T-shirt day: wear a shirt with blue or gold on it to get a sucker
Thursday
SC: Dress like a Farmer Day
W: Elementary Ag Literacy/Career Development Event Stations
Friday
SC: FFA Grill-out
W: Donut Sales Breakfast
