New deputy learning the ropes at Sheriff’s Office

new deputy 40 web    As of May 20, Sanborn County Sheriff’s Office has a new deputy, joining Deputy Jason Coenen and Sheriff Tom Fridley.
Ohio native Naif Alatta started on the job Monday morning. Deputy Alatta is a military veteran, having spent six years in the Army. He then spent four years as a West Virginia State Trooper, before moving to Chamberlain last year to be near his parents. He spent the last year working at St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain.
Deputy Alatta and his wife, Tavin, are living in Artesian with their two daughters, ages five and eight.
