Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Ebersdorfer presiding. Other members present were P. Larson, S. Larson, Blindauer, and Ohlrogge. Auditor Larson was also present. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by P. Larson, to accept the minutes as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.
CHN QUARTERLY REPORT
Marla Feistner, Community Health Nurse, gave her quarterly report.
HIGHWAY
Lee Goergen, Highway Superintendent/Weed Supervisor, met with the board. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to accept the resignation of Doug Janzing. All ayes. Motion carried. The board thanks Doug for his years of service. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Ohlrogge, to declare the 143 H motor grader surplus and to place it for auction with Caterpillar Auctions with a minimum bid of $90,000. All ayes. Motion carried.
SOIL CONSERVATION
Mark Snedeker, Chairman of the Sanborn County Conservation, met with the board to discuss some grant money. Some members of the board will meet with the Sanborn County Conservation Board at their regular meeting on August 1st at 6:00 p.m.
4-H GROUNDS
Two quotes were received for wiring in the back shed at the 4-H grounds. DB Electric quote was $7,982.26 and Howie Electric $6,800.00. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by P. Larson, to accept the low quote of Howie Electric. All ayes. Motion carried.
PLAT APPROVAL
David Estabrook, Steve Peschong, Attorney at Law, and Steve Donovan, Ducks Unlimited, met with the board to request approval for a Plat of D.U. Tract 1 in W/2SE/4, NE/4SW/4, & NW/4 16-106-62, Sanborn County. After much discussion and by recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Board, motion by P. Larson, seconded by S. Larson, to approve the plat. All ayes. Motion carried.
LIQUOR HEARING
Hearing no objections, motion by P. Larson, seconded by S. Larson, to approve the temporary liquor license for the Forestburg Melon Festival on August 20th at no cost. All ayes. Motion carried.
