The Blackhawks Band and Winterguard presented their spring concert last week. The concert began with two pieces by the concert band that will later be used at contest in Chamberlain, followed by a peppy song called “Hyperdrive.”
Band members then presented some unique small ensembles. The first, called “Body Jam,” used a combination of clapping, foot stomps, knee claps and vocals to share their music. The next novelty piece was “Bucket Jam,” where students used buckets and drumsticks to perform the music piece, followed by “Chair Jam” using chairs and drumsticks.
The concert ended with a performance by the Blackhawks Winterguard of their 2016 show “Self-Worth.”
