The Town ‘N Kountry Kids 4-H Club Blue Group met on May 20 at the Letcher Community Center in Letcher. The meeting was called to order by President Cole Moody. Pledges were led by Kara Wormstadt and Keaton Fridley. Twenty-five members answered the roll call topic “Bugs”. The Secretary’s report was read by Ashlee Hanson and was approved as read. The treasure report was given by Brady Larson, motion by Mason Moody, seconded by Ellie Evans, to approve the treasurer’s report.
Committee reports: Doug Hanson’s Auction Sales – the group raised $1,500.00 and thank you notes will be sent; Letcher Cleanup Day – Bryce Larson talked about what they did that day; Phonathon – Chole Degan talked on how hard it is getting ahold of people due to fewer land lines.
Old business – On June 11, there would be a beanbag tournament and chili cook-off at Jake’s Lounge, with proceeds going to 4-H for improvements at the 4-H grounds. Club project day was set for May 22 at 2 p.m. in the Letcher Community Center. Discussion was held on a sewing project day and club activity day, upcoming events, and State Fair books were handed out.
New Business – The club decided to participate in the chili cook-off at Jake’s on June 11. Committee members are: Ellie Evans, Alexis Kelly and Michael Hoffman. It was discussed to have a sewing day on June 24.
Talks and Demonstrations were given by Brady Larson on how to make pizza meat-loaf; Ellie Evans, Tori Hoffman, Keaton Fridley, Kenlie Fridley, Kara Wormstadt, Bryce Larson, Payton Uecker and Clay Moody on how to make different flavored smoothies; Noah Wormstadt on how to make blueberry muffins; and Michael Hoffman on how to make No Churn Ice Cream.
Guest speakers were Abby and Cheryl Dethlefsen on “How to raise and show rabbits.”
Next month’s meeting was scheduled for June 20 in the Letcher Community Center. Lunch would be served by Michael Hoffman, Payton Uecker and Rylee Zoss. Members are encouraged to give demonstrations this summer.
