The regular meeting of the Woonsocket City Council was called to order by Mayor Lindy Peterson at 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2016 with the following members present: Richard Reider, John Ames, Brandon Goergen, Richard Regynski and Jim Steichen. Don Schmidt was absent.
Motion by Reider, seconded by Brandon, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Goergen, seconded by Ames, to approve the April 4, 2016 Minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Goergen, to approve the April 22, 2016 Minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Steichen, to approve the financial statement. Motion carried.
Motion by Goergen, seconded by Steichen, to approve the following bills:

Council discussed the Dodge pickup that was up for sealed bids. No bids were received.
Council discussed the pump house/lift station.
NEW BUSINESS
Lindy Peterson, having been nominated to office, took his oath of office and was seated as Mayor for two years.
Richard Reider, having been nominated to office, took his oath of office and was seated as Council Member Ward I for two years.
Brandon Goergen, having been nominated to office, took his oath of office and was seated as Council Member Ward II for two years.
James Steichen, having been nominated to office, took his oath of office and was seated as Council Member Ward III for two years.
Motion by Regynski, seconded by Goergen, to nominated and elect Richard Reider to serve as President of the City Council. Motion carried.
Motion by Reider, seconded by Ames, to nominated and elect Richard Regynski to serve as Vice-President of the City Council. Motion carried.
Mayor Peterson announced the following persons heretofore appointed to their respective offices without being required to re-qualify as follow: City Attorney, Jeff Larson; Finance Officer, Tara Weber; Cemetery Sexton, Marc Olson; Librarian, Pat Larson; Water, Sewer, Streets and Maintenance, Richard Jensen and Andy Larson; Dumpground Caretaker, Donald Jemmings; Official Newspaper, Sanborn Weekly Journal; Official Depository, First National Bank of Omaha and Dakotaland Federal Credit Union.
Council discussed Lots 16-17 Block 21. Motion by Regynski, seconded by Goergen, to declare these lots surplus. Ames, Regynski and Goergen served as the appraisal committee. Motion by Reider, seconded by Steichen, to accept the following appraisals:
Regynski – $150.00 per lot
Ames – $30.00 per lot
Goergen – $60.62 per lot
Motion by Steichen, seconded by Ames, to accept $30.00 per lot and purchaser pays for quit claim deed. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Regynski, to purchase a new loader from surplus properties for $40,000.00. Motion carried.
Council talked about jam ball court.
Council discussed city-wide clean-up that will be held on May 19.
Motion by Regynski, seconded by Ames, to accept the proposal of $3,350.00 to fix the things they found during the routine cleaning. Motion carried.
With no further business to be discussed, motion by Steichen, seconded by Ames, to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
