The Woonsocket City Pool opened Tuesday afternoon for the summer.
City workers have been working the past few weeks to repaint, make yearly repairs and fill the pool, just in time for a hot summer week with a high of up to 100ºF in the forecast.
Pool hours are every day, 1-5 p.m., and Sunday through Friday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The pool is closed Saturday evenings. Lifeguards will be on duty.
City workers and local volunteers also recently repoured the concrete on the jamball court to the north of the pool, in time for summer pick-up basketball games and the very popular Fourth of July Jamball Tournament.
Other planned  improvements to the Lake Prior park area include four more camping spots north of the playground. All city campsites are first come, first served at $10 per night.
