The regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 met at 6 p.m. on Sept. 5. President Dawn Rassel led the opening ceremonies with Chaplain Judy Stenzel leading the opening prayer.
The minutes of the June meeting were read and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given by Barb Maurice and accepted.
A report was given by Dawn Rassel on the July 4th Bingo. Coupons were sent to military families in Germany and Korea.
The yearly obligations were paid, as well as the Christmas Gift Shop donation and a donation to Special Olympics.
The District 6 Fall Meeting will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 30 in Wessington Springs. All members are welcome.
The newly elected president of South Dakota American Legion Auxiliary is Elvira Moen. Her theme this year is “Thanks to Our Veterans, Freedom Rings in South Dakota.”
It was decided to have the next meeting on Monday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m., due to activity conflicts.
Following the closing ceremonies, President Dawn Rassel adjourned the meeting.
