The Letcher Legion Auxiliary met on Monday, March 13, at 7 p.m. President Sandi Ruml called the meeting to order. Chaplain Pat Nelson read the opening prayer. Roll call was answered by six members present.
February meeting minutes were read, and the treasurer’s report was given by Kathy Northrup.
Old Business: Past due memberships and how to continue to meet our membership goals were discussed. Judging of the Americanism Poems was March 14.
New Business: April 1 is the Girls State entries deadline. Girls State Tea in Mitchell is April 30 at 2 p.m. Spring Meeting for District 6 is April 2 at Kimball with a luncheon at 1:30 p.m., and meeting at 3 p.m.
President Ruml is working to complete our Annual Report. Poppy donations are due by June 15, and there was a discussion to send in payment soon, as there isn’t a need to wait when we already know what we are donating. Poppy poster deadline is April 22, President Ruml will complete this paperwork and send it in.
April 15 is our Spring Salad Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Letcher Community Center. Everyone is welcome to attend.
There was also discussion for nominating new committee officers and catering for funerals that will be tabled until next meeting.
Chaplain Nelson read the closing prayer and the meeting was adjourned. Hostess was Pat Nelson.
The next meeting will be April 10 at 7 p.m. with Amy Howard as hostess.
