Bailey Moody was among the seven students that presented their research at Dakota State University’s annual Research Symposium on Wednesday, March 29.
Moody, a freshman at DSU, searched for resistant strands of MRSA in soil sludge that had been fertilized with some type of waste product, and discovered that the soil sludge had much higher cases of the resistant MRSA than unfertilized soil.
Each student received a grant in the fall to help support his or her research.
Bailey is the daughter of Perry and Tracy Moody of Letcher.
