Woonsocket School Powerlifter Kyla Morgan placed first in the Class A division and third overall in the state Powerlifting Championship held at O’Gorman High School last weekend. She is pictured with her coach Armando Rodriguez.

Kyla Morgan, of Woonsocket High School and the SCW Blackhawks Powerlifting team, placed first in the Class A division and third in all classes in the girls gold division at the State Powerlifting competition held last Saturday in Sioux Falls.
Morgan lifted a total of 700 pounds in three lifts, including a 335-pount deadlift. She also benched 115 pounds and completed a 250-pound squat.
Also competing at the South Dakota Powerlifting Meet was Riley Schmiedt, who totaled 1,035 pounds, including a 435-pound deadlift, 365 pound squat and a 235-pound bench press.
Cage Boschee totaled 760 pounds: 265 squat, 195 bench, 300 deadlift; Corey Fink totaled 650 pounds: 250 squat, 135 bench, 300 deadlift; and Wesley Linke lifted 495 pounds: 295 squat, 200 bench, scratch in deadlift.
