WOONSOCKET – Santel Communications Cooperative Inc., held their 65th Annual Members Meeting on Sept.18, at the Woonsocket Community Center, during which two seats on the Board of Directors were scheduled for election.
For the central district, Pam Moore of the Artesian exchange opted not to seek re-election after 17 years on the board. Moore was presented a plaque and was thanked for her dedication to the cooperative.
Becky Pitz of the Letcher exchange will take Moore’s place and was welcomed aboard. Pitz is the General Manager of POET Biorefining and has a degree in chemical engineering from the SD School of Mines and Technology.
She is active with the Davison County LEPC, State Emergency Response Commission, Mitchell Chamber of Commerce and MTI Ag Advisory Board.
For the at-large position, Kent Swenson of Woonsocket was re-elected for another term. Swenson has been a member of the Santel Board of Directors since 1984, and has served many years as Board President. Swenson is also involved with the Woonsocket Community Club, T&C Fire Department, the Knights of Columbus and St. Wilfrid Church.
