Guest speakers visit schools to promote safety

Last week, Oct. 7-13, was observed as Fire Safety and Prevention Week and Walk/Bike to School Safety Week. Each year the local volunteer fire departments visit the schools during this week in order to help the young people of Sanborn County to understand the need for safety procedures and precautions. This year the Department of Transportation (DOT) crew located in Woonsocket joined them to promote getting to school safely, too.
