PIERRE – Five readers have been named winners in the South Dakota Braille and Talking Book Library Summer Reading Program. Forty readers participated in this summer’s program, which ran from June 3 to July 14 and was open to all youth registered with the South Dakota Braille and Talking Book Library, ages birth to 19. Participants pledged to read a minimum of 20 minutes each day.
Readers who returned their reading charts were entered into prize drawings. Prizes included Amazon gift cards provided by the Evening Star Lions Club of Rapid City and a grand prize Android tablet paid for with donations from users of the South Dakota Braille and Talking Book Library.
The winner of the grand prize was Blaine Jemming of Woonsocket.
