The Sanborn County American Cancer Society met Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. at the courthouse for their quarterly meeting.  The meeting was called to order by President Julie Davis.  The prayer for the conquest of cancer and mission statement were read.

The minutes from the last meeting were read and approved.

The cancer tournament was held at Sanborn Central on Nov. 11. Deb Boschee reported that the profit from the tournament was $1,906.70.  She also read a thank you for the work the board does from Tonya Grassel Kreitlow.

Janet Maechen is going to try to line up some homes for the Tour of Homes in the Letcher area. The board has not had the tour for two years and would like to see it started again. The tour has been the first Sunday of December, so it would be Dec. 2 this year.

The group discussed publishing the minutes in the paper with the hope of getting new members on the board.  If anyone has some suggestions, would like to volunteer, or has any questions, please contact a board member. They would be happy to have you. Current board members are Julie Davis, Connie Farris, Karen Krueger, Deb Boschee, Marla Feistner, Myrna Knigge, Lynn Brueske, Janet Maeschen, Janice Northrup, Terry Moore, Diane Larson, Judy Hinker, Barb Senska, and Janice Grassel.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be June 27 at 4:30 p.m. at the courthouse.
