Woonsocket firefighters take care of a small fire at the Glenn and Val Hohn farm in rural Alpena on Tuesday, June 5.

On Tuesday afternoon last week, the Woonsocket Fire Department was called out to the Glenn and Val Hohn farm. An agriculture consultant was surveying a field and testing soil when something fell out of his side-by-side and started some of the old corn stalks in the field on fire. The fire was extinguished quickly and did not do any damage to crops or vehicles, and no injuries were reported.
