Anneliese Holsing, daughter of Angela (Sonnenberg) and Walker Holsing of Cresbard, ran in the Run with the Govs in Pierre on Saturday, June 15. Holsing, who is the granddaughter of GayLynne and John Ames of Woonsocket, came in first in her age division of 12 and under. She was presented her trophy and a South Dakota state flag by South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.

The Run with the Govs is a 3.5-mile race that winds through the heart of Pierre. The route features bronze statues of 22 former governors. It starts and finishes at the front steps of the beautiful State Capitol building. People of all ages can sign up to participate and each participant can choose to either walk or run the route. 

The race registration fees and any additional donations are all contributed to the Trail of Governors Foundation.
