The Sanborn Central Powerlifting team will be completing its season with the State Meet Saturday at the Sioux Falls Roosevelt gym.

Lifting will begin at 8 a.m. in the main gym. State was originally scheduled for March 9, but had to be moved due to weather concerns. The meet will comprise of three main lifts: squat, bench, and deadlift. Athletes are allowed three attempts on each lift with the highest weight being recorded for their score. After the three lifts, weight totals are added to decide a winner. There are several different weight classes for athletes to compete in.

Sanborn Central lifters have been lifting four days a week since November and are looking to cap off the season with new personal bests. Due to scheduling conflicts, not all lifters will be able to compete Saturday. Results will be available in next week’s paper.
