The Special Olympic State Equestrian competition was held in Huron, July 12-13. Among the competing teams was the Mitchell Outlaws, which consisted of Julia Stach, Brent Hieb, Ian Ames and Matt Baysinger, all of Mitchell, Aaron Krouse of Montrose, and Kyle Clarmbeau of Letcher. The coaches were Rod Clarambeau and Shanna Jensen.

Krouse and Clarambeau were flagbearers during opening ceremonies.
