LAWRENCE, Kan. – Former South Dakota track standout and current USD volunteer coach Kenna Wolter qualified for the USA Indoor Championships on Saturday while finishing second in the triple jump at the Bill Easton Classic held in Lawrence, Kan.
Wolter jumped 42-5 to exceed the qualifying standard by two feet (40-5). The jump was a personal record for Wolter, who recorded six conference titles for the Coyotes from 2010-2012 and currently holds USD’s indoor triple jump record of 41-9.
The USA Indoor Championships will be held in Albuquerque, N.M., starting on Mar. 2.
Wolter is the daughter of the late Ed Wolter of Woonsocket.
