The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket FFA attended the 89th South Dakota FFA State Convention this last week.
While there, they listened to speakers, participated in Career Development Events (CDEs), and senior members interviewed for offices and awards.
Ty Ziebart was recognized for being a finalist for State Star in Placement, and Aaron Linke was elected to serve as the 2017-2018 SD FFA State Treasurer.
In the proficiency awards, Nathan Linke placed second in the area of Poultry Production, and Aaron Linke placed third in the area of Diversified Agricultural Production.
Aaron Linke was also selected to receive one of the SD FFA’s Blue and Gold scholarships.
Garrett Dean, Colton Hotchkiss, Aaron Linke, Kyla Morgan, Trevor Olson, Shaun Snedeker and Ty Ziebart wrapped up their senior year and FFA experience by receiving their State Degrees.
In CDEs, the Meats Evaluation team placed first and will advance on to the National FFA Convention this fall. The Agronomy team placed second in team competition.
