W/WS/SC Blackhawks fall to Hitchcock-Tulare

The Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks came back from an early 16-point deficit, but eventually fell to Hitchcock-Tulare, 32-12, Friday in Hitchcock.
The Patriots got up early on the Hawks with a 16-0 lead. With a little over two minutes left in the first quarter, there was a weather delay due to lightining.
After the delay the Blackhawks were able to get their offense going early in the second quarter with a 40-yard run by Jarid Bechen to get the Blackhawks on the board.
Another delay occurred before the second half could begin, but once play resumed, the Blackhawks got another score on a 53-yard run by Austin Messmer to make it a 16-12 game.
Hitchcock-Tulare answered to lift their score to 24 and then added a late, game-sealing touchdown to put the final score at 32-12.
Austin Messmer led the offense with 141 rushing yards on 31 carries. Jacob Fouberg had 15 tackles for the defense and Messmer added 13 tackles. Garrett Larson also was in double-digit tackles with 11.
The Blackhawks (3-2) host Highmore-Harrold in Wessington Springs on Friday.
