The youth group, WWTS (Walking with the Savior), has resumed meeting after summer break. Meetings are each Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at the church for children of all denominations, kindergarten age through sixth grade. The children will sing at church on Oct. 23. On Wednesday, Oct. 26, there will be a Bible Character Costume party and movie night. All are welcome to attend.
Nancy Sullivan and Tambi Wormstadt are coordinating the Snack Pack Program. If people wish to donate food items, a list of what is needed is in the church entrance area. First Lutheran provided the September Snack Packs and will serve again in January.
Confirmation class meets on Wednesday evenings, alternating between Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Artesian Community Center. The group appreciates that the Fire Department share their facility for this purpose.
Discussion was held about upcoming outreach projects. The women will do the Christmas fruit baskets and are considering several other community needs. From now until Christmas, the group will focus on making quilts for local needs.
At 8 p.m., immediately following the Circle meeting, many who have been helping quilt met for a social time. The completed chevron style quilt for the Oct. 16 Lutheran Outdoors quilt auction at Sioux Falls Our Savior’s Lutheran, was on display, as well as the finished quilts, back packs and kits that will be shipped off soon to Minneapolis for distribution.
The ladies prayed the Lord’s Prayer, Joyce OIson led the singing of a new table prayer, and Judi Larson treated everyone to fresh, warm apple pie from the oven and ice cream.
