Crop Reporting Date Deadlines: In South Dakota spring forage seeding, all other spring seeded crops and CRP must be reported by July 15. Pasture/rangeland/forage, perennial forage, and fall seeded small grains must be reported by Nov. 15.
The following exceptions apply to acreage reporting dates:
1. If the crop has not been planted by the applicable acreage reporting date, then the acreage must be reported no later than 15 calendar days after planting is completed.
2. If a producer acquires additional acreage after the applicable acreage reporting date, then the acreage must be reported no later than 30 calendars days after acquisition along with appropriate documentation.
3. If a perennial forage crop is reported with the intended use of “cover only,” “green manure,” “left standing” or “seed,” then the acreage must be reported by July 15.
Late Reporting Fees: Producers who report late are subject to added review and late fees. Late fee charge is $46 per farm.
Producers Must Report Prevented Planting and Failed Acres. Prevented planting acreage must be reported no later than 15 calendar days after the final planting data for that crop. A late-filed report can be submitted, but will only be accepted if FSA conducts a farm visit to assess the condition that prevented the crop from being planted. A measurement service fee will be charged for late PP reports. Prevent Plant is if you could not get into the field with the planter.
Failed Acres… For losses on crops covered by NAP and crop insurance, producers must file a notice of loss within 15 days of the occurrence of the disaster or when losses become apparent. Contact the FSA Office to file a Notice of Loss.
ARCPLC Annual Enrollment. FSA will be completing 2016 annual enrollment for participating producers.
Deadline to sign up for the 2016 year is Aug. 1. Annual enrollment gives producers another opportunity to decide if they want to participate in the ARCPLC program, and if you do, then reaffirms your commitment to comply with program compliance requirements, including but not limited to: acreage reporting, highly erodible and wetland compliance, adjusted gross income certifications, operational changes reporting and control of noxious weeds. These requirements apply to almost all of the FSA programs.
