Hope Circle met at 5:30 p.m. at the parish church on Oct. 13. Attending were Vickie Hines, Barb Coulthard, Jannet Larson, Vicki Linke, Audrey Kempf and Sue Larson. Vickie Hines was the hostess for the meal and also read devotions before the business meeting.
Vicki Linke, chairman, called the meeting to order. Sue Larson read the previous minutes and gave the financial report.
“Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes” will be packed at the Nov. 10 meeting in the Barb Coulthard home.
The numbers for the back pack snack program have grown due in part to the McKenzie lay-off.
The group discussed a fundraiser for Teresa Nygaard, Mission Interpretor, for the homeless program in Sioux Falls. Members will be packing kits for foot care.
The next quilting for missions session will be on Oct. 20 at the parish church beginning at 10 a.m.
The American Legion has requested “Prayer Pillows” to be given to veterans and shut-ins. (Several have already been made by Evelyn Mitzel, Sandy McNutt of Huron and Sue Larson.)
The Bible study was entitled: “Jesus and the evil eye: When God Blesses the Undeserving” based on Matthew 20.
