Tied up at the half, the Blackhawk girls slid by Ethan Monday night, 45-41, in Ethan.
The Lady Hawks were led by local superstar Myah Selland’s fourth double-double of the season. Selland, a junior, racked up 20 points and 13 rebounds, along with two assists and three steals.
Tayla Weber followed up the effort with nine points and four each rebounds and assists. Junior Abby Doering added seven points, while Maddie Vermeulen had four. Kayla Olson put forth a well-rounded effort with three points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals.
The Blackhawks shot 54 percent on 13-of-24 from the field and 80 percent on 20 free throw attempts.
Ethan’s Karly Gustafson led the Rustlers with 15 points and seven rebounds.
SCW improves to 10-4 with the win and is scheduled to host Corsica-Stickney Thursday night in Forestburg. This was just Ethan’s second loss and they are 12-2 on the season.
