WESSINGTON SPRINGS — The annual District 6  Spring Meeting of the South Dakota American Legion will be held Saturday, April 16, in Wessington Springs for Legionnaires from Beadle, Kingsbury, Miner, Aurora, Brule, Buffalo, Davison, Hanson, Jerauld and Sanborn counties.
The Legion business session will begin at 2 p.m. in the Wessington Springs American Legion Post Home.  There will be a meal at 12 noon with a social at 1 p.m.
Participants will elect District Commander and District Vice Commanders for two-year terms and County Commanders and Vice Commanders in the District for one-year terms during the business meeting.
The session will also feature Post Americanism reports, a membership turn-in, recognition of the District 6 Legionnaire of the Year, and an address by State American Legion Commander Terry Hanson of Arlington.
District 6 Commander Annette Dunham of Iroquois will conduct the business session and Dennis Scheel Post Commander will be in charge of the local arrangements.
The District 6 Auxiliary will hold its meeting at 2 p.m. in the Community Room at the Courthouse.
