The Letcher Community Church held its annual vacation Bible school July 31-Aug. 4 with the theme, “Surf Shack.”
Seventy students from ages three through the eighth grade attended. The five classes participated in several centers each evening: Bible storytelling, music, classroom review and recreation. A fun snack was served at the closing of each evening.
The seventh and eighth grade class also met and organized community service adventures. There were approximately 18 teachers and helpers to assist with the Bible activities.
Supper was served each evening by numerous Christian volunteers. A potluck supper was held on the opening evening. A short program was held on the last night with a full church in attendance.
Money raised through offerings and fundraising will be used to off-set the cost of this event, the Sanborn County Food Pantry and Christmas shoebox.
