A robbery at the Marlene Hoffman home in Letcher is believed to have occurred Dec. 31, 2015, possibly during Marlene’s husband, Bill’s funeral.
Taken were several Black Hills Gold and gold onyx rings and necklaces with heart-shaped lockets, some jewelry from Avon. Also taken were two jewelry boxes, one tall to hang necklaces with drawers on top; the second had a glass lift lid. Older silverware in a wooden, felt-lined, lift lid display storage box and several bluish teal plates, a platter and glass jar and vase were also taken.

The Sheriff’s office also reminds area residents to lock their doors and be cautious about sharing information with the public about when you are leaving or are away from your home. Opportunistic criminals may be watching your movements on social networking sites or other mediums.
