School has just started and Homecoming Week is right around the corner. Homecoming will start on Sept. 6 and continue through Sept. 9.  The designated days for “Spirit Week” voted by the Student Council include:
Sept. 6, Tuesday     – USA Day;
Sept. 7, Wednesday – Cartoon Day;
Sept. 8, Thursday – Senior Citizen Day;
Sept. 9, Friday – Blackhawk Day – Coop/School Colors.
On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Coronation will begin at 8 p.m. in the Woonsocket Gym. There will be introductions of Football/Volleyball/Cross Country/Cheerleaders, etc., and other activities, including burning of the “W,” built by the freshmen class.
On Friday, Sept. 9, the Woonsocket School will have their annual parade, beginning at 1 p.m. The theme this year (voted on by the student council) is “Olympics.”  Businesses who are interested in participating in the parade can sign up when lining up for the parade at 12:30 p.m. by Prairie View Healthcare Community.
The football game against the Deubrook Dolphins will start at 7 p.m. in Woonsocket.
This is one of the biggest events of the year for the Woonsocket School, so let’s make it memorable for everyone and make sure we are respectful to our community and businesses. Go Blackhawks!
