Ten members of Hope Circle of the Spirit of Faith Lutheran-Methodist Church met on Thursday, March 16, at 5:30 p.m. at Prairie View Healthcare Community with Jacki Aymar as hostess. Attending were Ruth Jensen, Jannet Larson, Barb Coulthard, Kim Hiemstra, JoAnn Schladweiler, Vicki Linke, Evelyn Mitzel, Vickie Hines, Sue Larson and Jacki Aymar.
Five residents joined the group for our Bible study entitled “Galatians: Christian Faith and Christian Freedom – Heirs of the Promise” taken from Galatians 3:24-4:31. Our guests were Alice Baruth, Phyllis Manke, Patti Knigge, Myrna Hjelm and Ruth Berg.
Following the meal, Jacki Aymar read a devotional. Vicki Linke called the meeting to order. Sue Larson read the secretary’s minutes and gave the financial report. JoAnn Schladweiler gave the W/ELCA treasurer’s report. Several donations have been received from the serving of funerals. The five confirmation students will receive a monetary gift from the women on April 9, when they are confirmed.
Coming up on March 26, Spirit of Faith Church will host their annual soup, sandwich and pie luncheon following worship at the Woonsocket Community Center. This will be open to the public for a free will donation. Worship will be at the usual time of 9 a.m.
Mission quilting was held at the church. Completed were one quilt, eight baby care layettes and six personal care health kits. The next quilting dates will be April 6 and April 20 beginning at 10 a.m.
April 22 will be the Prairie Rivers Spring Gathering in Mitchell at First Lutheran Church beginning at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served at a cost of $6.
The April meeting will be held on April 6 at PVHC as our usual date was a conflict with Maundy Thursday worship services.
