The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Lady Blackhawks thrashed James Valley Christian Monday night, 53-16, to sweep the 281 Conference.
With the win SCW will finish the season 8-0 in the Conference, as they improve their overall record to 17-1 with one regular season game to go.
Myah Selland led her team with a game-high 27 points and Megan Poyer threw in 14 points to go with her four rebounds, six assists and six steals.
Selland also had seven take-aways, while Abby Doering led in rebounding with five.
The Hawks had 19 rebounds to JVC’s 23, and committed just 10 turnovers to the Vikings’ 34.
The Lady Vikings got five points each from Mallory Aughenbaugh and Samantha Dowling. Dowling also had 10 boards.
The No. 2-rated Blackhawks travel to Mitchell Christian Thursday for their final regular season contest before entering Districts next week.
SCW has a commanding lead in District 6B with 45.16 seed points, followed in second by Wolsey-Wessington (8-11) with 38.74, which means the Hawks will make their first District appearance Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Huron Arena, where they will take on bottom seed Iroquois.
The District 6B Championship will take place Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Huron Arena, followed by Regions in Madison on March 3.
