Myah Selland is undisputedly the best female prep basketball player in the state.
Selland was awarded one of South Dakota’s most prestigious high school basketball awards, Hansen Anderson’s South Dakota Miss Basketball, at an awards luncheon Sunday at the Ramkota in Sioux Falls.
Eleven senior girls and 11 senior boys were chosen finalists for the Miss and Mr. Basketball awards.
Selland was awarded Miss Basketball, while Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Matt Cartwright was honored with Mr. Basketball, naming them as the two best basketball players in the state. The state’s high school basketball coaches vote on the award.
