The Woonsocket Water Festival Committee has finalized the 2017 Fourth of July celebration schedule of events
This year’s theme is, “There’s no place like home!” The list of activities are as follows:
Saturday, July 1
10 a.m. – Follow the Yellow Brick Road 5K (Run for Fun) –
contact Rex Schlicht to pre-register for T-shirts (354-0498).
12-6 p.m. – Open swimming and music by the pool; class reunions.
2 p.m.    – Women’s and Men’s Alumni Basketball Game at the Woonsocket Gym. For more information, contact Jalen Larson (933-2099).
9 p.m. – Street Dance, sponsored by Skeeters and the Woonsocket Fire Dept. with Dustin Evans & The Good Times Band.
Sunday, July 2
8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – St. Wilfrid Church Pancake Feed at the Community Center.
9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Dorothy’s Fishing Derby for Kids – Lake Prior.
1-7p.m. – Open swimming and music by the pool.
1 p.m. – Class reunions; Flying Monkey Bean Bag Tourney – south of the pool, sponsored by Legion Post 29.
5-6 p.m. – Cook-off Finals and Feed. Contact Jeff Hotchkiss (350-7276). Donation made by SD Pork Council.
Monday, July 3
1-7 p.m. Open swimming and music by the pool.
5 p.m. Alumni Social Hour – Community Center.
6 p.m. – All School Alumni Banquet.
Tuesday, July 4
11 a.m. – Parade (registration 9-10:55 a.m. by city office).
12 p.m. – FFA/BBQ fundraiser, School Gym; “Chair”-ity Auction- School Commons
12-6 p.m. – Open swimming and music by the pool.
12:30-4:30 p.m. – Terrific Tornado Bouncy House by the pool – sponsored by Dakotaland.
1 p.m. – Food by Tena’s Treats at Lake Prior; Toto’s Turtle Races; sno cones – Student Council and NHS; Camp Critters Wagon Train and Inflatables.
1:30 p.m. – Wicked Witches Sand Volleyball Tourney.
4 p.m.    – No Cowards Allowed 3-on-3 Jamball Tourney
7-9 p.m. – Tin Man’s Tunes – “Music by the Lake,” – River of Life Band & Community Choir – by Jamball Court.
10 p.m. or Dark – Fireworks Display on the Lake – sponsored by Woonsocket Water Festival – detonated by Wide Awake Hose Co.
