On Thursday, Sept. 6, the SCW Cross Country team headed to Wessington Springs for the 281 Conference meet. It was a cool morning, perfect for the competition.

When the meet was over, the SCW varsity team had a lot to be proud of. In the girl’s race, Hannah Terkildsen placed fifth, and Trinity Boschee placed ninth. For the boys, Spens Schlicht placed seventh, Austin Schmit placed 10th, Braxton Gentles came in 11th and Jeff Boschee placed 20th. The varsity boys’ team placed second overall.

The JV and JH Cross Country teams also did well at the 281 Conference meet. In the JV girls’ race, Chiara Heiss placed third. For the JH girls’ run, Bella Fry placed fourth, and in the JH boy’s race, Gabe Freidel placed first, and Aiden Lieber placed fifth.

The Cross Country team will run its next meet on Sept. 19 at Colman/Egan.
